A legal entity is any business organization legally permitted to enter into a contract, including a contract for the purchase, sale, or lease of real property. Legal entity interests may be owned individually, owned by another legal entity, or held in trust.

Anyone who has access to create suppliers can create and manage legal entities.

Follow the below steps to create the legal entities.

Legal entities can be mapped during the creation of the supplier. When a parent supplier is created the children can be created along with the parent supplier.

The children's entities share most of the information but vary on essentials; namely, GSTIN, Name, etc.

The below steps need to be followed after the steps available under supplier onboarding - SAPP for filling out the supplier onboarding form. While filling out the onboarding form consider the below:

In the Add Legal Entities section, fill in all the details. Those legal entities are created as separate suppliers but with the general details being the same as the parent supplier.

SAPP

  1. To make the legal entity suppliers' creation easy.
While creating the parent legal entity, the creator must only give a few extra details about the children's legal entities; All the other details are taken from the parent legal entity. It makes the legal entity onboarding process much easier than creating legal entity suppliers separately.
  2. Visibility. The parent legal entity has visibility over all it's children legal entities in one place.
