What is a PRC

PRC is the acronym for Purchase Requisition Cart.


In a purchase request, the line items that have active Rate Contracts (RCs) can be converted to purchase orders (POs) directly. They do not have to follow the default route of being converted to a Request for Quote (RFQ) or as a Purchase Order (PO). That's why we have the Purchase Requisition Cart (PRC).

Advantages of Using a PRC

The number of POs created against the number of PRs is minimized. Items that share the same rate contract can be placed in a single purchase order.

How to Add PRs to PRC

Follow the below steps to add the line items with the rate contract to the PRC.

  1. Log in to the Aerchain customer portal
  2. Click the Modules icon
  3. Click New Requisitions under Requisitions
  4. Fill in all the General Details
  5. Expand the Items section
  6. Fill in all the details of the Products
  7. Click Submit
  8. Choose an Approver
  9. Click Submit


Now, the Aerchain system starts the process calculation which pulls the details of the rate contract, purchase trends, and other information about the products. Once that is completed, the status of the purchase request changes to Submitted.


If there are any line items with active RCs, the following will change on the line items of the purchase request.


  1. A Green Plus icon appears before the product.


  2. The price from the rate contract is displayed in the Approx Price column.

  3. Suggested RC is displayed in the Suggested RC's column.


Now, you can add those products to the PRC and proceed further to create a purchase order. Follow the below steps.


  1. Click the Green Plus icon.✔️The selected line item is added to PRC.
  2. Click on the View Cart button.
    ✔️ The PRC page opens.
  3. Choose the Supplier from the drop-down.
  4. Click the Preview button.
    ✔️ The PRC preview page opens.
  5. Fill in all the details and click Submit.


With that, you have successfully created a PO from a PR using the PRC.
