In this article, we will briefly explain how multi-page invoice document split works in the customer portal. 

Understanding Multi-page Invoice Document Spilt 

Multi-page invoice document is a document that contains several pages other than invoice such as packaging list, delivery challan, bank documents, etc. 

  • From the Invoice listing page through the Invoice Extraction,  if you have uploaded the multi-page invoice file from your system for OCR extraction. Then, the system browses each page of the document and identifies which page might be considered for invoice creation and  split them. 
  • Once the invoice document is uploaded and successfully read through the OCR Extraction, it will convert itself into pending-approval status depending upon presence of approvals or invoiced status. 


  • If the OCR extraction was unable to find the necessary details in the invoice document to generate an invoice, it will throw a human-review status and it will ask for the manual intervention of the user to edit and update certain fields.


  • Below screenshot displays how a multi-page invoice document is uploaded and read through OCR extraction. This document is split into two parts. Out of these two, one invoice is successfully created and sent to pending-approval status. The other invoice has insufficient data so it is marked as Human-review status. As shown in the below screenshot: 



  • Now, click on the invoice bar with pending-approval status to view the details of the invoice that is created successfully. The view page gets open displaying invoice details. 
  • From the top right corner, go to the Activity timeline. The purpose of this activity timeline is to display all the real-time updates such as, you will be able to see the multi-page  invoice document uploaded. Out of these 18 pages, page 1 is marked as invoice as it is identified by the system, converted, and splits from the document to create an invoice. You can chat with your team member and upload any attachment if required.  


  • Another invoice created of the same multi-page invoice document has insufficient required details. So, it will be marked as Human-review status. In the Human-review view page, you will be able to review all the details present on the document. Moreover, you will be able to see what details are mapped to respective invoice creation. 
  • You can update the insufficient data by clicking on the Edit button. From the Activity Timeline, you check that page 2 of 18 pages identified as Invoice which can be considered for invoice creation. It splits by the system but has insufficient data. So, it is marked as Human-review. As shown in the screenshot below. 



  • Once all the required details of the Invoice is updated, you can click on the "Submit" button.
